Through his years of coaching, Coach Ike instilled values of hard work, integrity, and perseverance. He believed that sports were a vehicle for teaching life lessons, and his athletes learned that success comes from dedication, teamwork, and character.

The Be Like Ike Foundation was established to continue Coach Ike's mission of empowering youth through education, sports, and community service. We honor his legacy by inspiring the next generation to embody the values that made him an exceptional leader.

Each February, the Be Like Ike Foundation is honored to partner with Lake Minneola High School to host the Annual Be Like Ike Track Meet—a community tradition that celebrates the start of the track season and honors the legacy of Coach Ike Wilson.

More than just a competition, this event embodies the core values of the Foundation along with sportsmanship, commitment, and holistic wellness. Athletes, coaches, and families from across Central Florida come together to uplift one another, build camaraderie, and “Be Like Ike” by giving their best on and off the track.

Each year, the Be Like Ike Foundation awards a $1,500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who embodies the core values that Coach Ike Wilson represented: integrity, leadership, academic excellence, and community service.

This scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate not just academic achievement, but also the character and determination to make a positive difference in their communities.
